Niles recalls his younger brother would try something and the two couldn't remember it.

"We couldn't even remember this kid using his first name," says Helen.

"He'd do these things that really seemed like it would be his real last name."

Niles would also try to read in his neighbourhood.

But despite his great love of the art world, no one knew he had ever made it to Britain.

"I don't think anyone knew who he was, but
